Our trucks can be frequently seen cruising along on delivery runs. The business itself has been a entity since 1928, passing through various name changes and expansions. It is still a family owned and operated business.
It began in 1928 as the Pierron Oil Co. Carl Lammers came on board with the crew in 1968. John Meckles of Staunton purchased the company in 1973 and renamed it the Highland Pierron Oil Company. Carl bought the business five years later. Carl and his wife, Helen, worked at the business until they retired in 2007 and 2006, respectively. Their son, Terry, took his place within the family business in 1991 after graduating from Webster University and working for a brief time in St. Louis. The business became incorporated in 1991 and was named Tri-County Petroleum, Inc. In 2006, Terry's wife, Julie, came to work for the company as well.
